Knee Problems

A trauma, mechanical injury or musculoskeletal disease affecting ligaments, tendons, cartilage and bones inside the knee joint may lead to a variety of knee problems – discomfort, reduced movement, being stiff, experiencing swelling or a locking of the knee joint, instability, an altered gait or if you hear a clicking sound in the knee joint. Any one of these problems can make managing daily activities difficult or disrupt hobbies involving physical activity. Therefore it is important that one seeks specialist advice and possibly conservative or surgical treatment.

Specialist treatment

Whatever your symptoms may be, we can offer comprehensive and specialist diagnostic tests, advice and treatment (if necessary) for every type of knee condition including dislocation of the knee cap, ligament or cartilage injury and different types of arthritis.

Our highly trained orthopaedic specialist physicians, orthopaedic nurse specialists and knee surgeons are renowned in their area of expertise. They can offer reassurance, peace of mind and support throughout the process of seeking medical and any surgical treatment (including complete knee replacement).

To ensure an accurate diagnosis (and when clinically indicated), minor diagnostic procedures can also be used to assist. During this arthroscopy, a tiny telescopic camera is inserted into the knee joint to facilitate a clearer picture of the problem.

Our team

After diagnosis, follow-up treatment may be recommended by our orthopaedic specialist physicians. This treatment could include physiotherapy, conventional management, or keyhole surgery, joint replacement or preservation surgery.

The team also works very closely with our musculoskeletal physiotherapists to help you return to full fitness in good time.
